In this advanced playwriting class, we will not read any plays. In each class we will listen to music and explore the ways in which musical structures can present a variety of approaches to language, dramatic structure, tone, pace, and the "rhythm" of characters. This class is not about writing "musicals" per se, but about using musical structures and music theory to help us write dynamic, inventive plays.
